From SDB Academy to Rockingham Cambio Cumbre: The Journey of Reed
At SDB Academy, we believe in nurturing young talent and giving players the tools they need to express themselves on the pitch. Today, we are incredibly proud to share the success story of one of our outstanding graduates, Reed.
Reed joined the SDB Academy family when he was eight years old. Drawn to our program by the promise of learning how good futsal could be for foot skills, he quickly realized it was true and never looked back. Over the next three years, Reed became a shining example of what dedication, passion, and the right guidance can achieve.
Developing Confidence & Communication
During his time with us, Reed’s growth was phenomenal. When asked what changed the most about him as a player, he highlighted his confidence on the ball and his ability to communicate on the pitch. SDB Academy provided him with the environment to play the style of football he loved, allowing his natural talent to flourish.
But our focus at SDB Academy goes beyond just footwork. We aim to build character. For Reed, the academy helped him make a lot of friends, most of which he is still friends with today.
A Stand-Out Moment to Remember
Every player has that one special memory, and for Reed, it was beating Spearwood in the U10 final when they went the whole season undefeated. It was a testament to his hard work and the technical foundation he built at SDB.
The SDB Difference
What makes SDB Academy different? According to Reed, it’s the simplicity of it and that nothing is too complicated. The basics are the most important thing in every player's game. We strive to create a supportive community where young players feel valued and inspired to reach their full potential.
Where is Reed Now?
Now 16 years old, Reed is making waves in the football world. He is currently playing as a Flanker in futsal for Rockingham Cambio Cumbre A’s and as a Defensive Midfielder in outdoor for Murdoch. His next big goal? To play for the state team in both futsal and outdoor. His dream in life is to always be playing football, no matter where he is.Words of Wisdom for the Next Generation
